Further news and much better news, read this........... it's great news
Pam and I have carried out considerable research on a number of hotels and country clubs in the area around the Midlands. We have considered 5 other venues for the 2022 reunion plus two more out of that immediate area..
Four of them were overpriced, two did not have reasonable facilities, some were not available during September and generally the menus and rooms were unacceptable.
After considerable further negotiations with Jade at the old Warwick Hilton,(Now the Marriott) she has agreed that the service which we received was quite inadequate. I have to concur that some of this was due to COVID and hence manpower and to some extent, some was due to refurbishment. They were just not “on the ball”.
However, things have changed considerably even in the last few days.
Refurbishment is almost complete. We have discussed prices and we have now come up with a very attractive and comprehensive price package which is considerably less than last year. In essence, what they are prepared to offer us is a daily rate for Dinner, Bed and breakfast at only £63 per person. (note.That includes dinner) and is the same for Thursday, Friday and Sunday for those who wish and as low as £73 for the Saturday. That is much cheaper than last year and is almost half the prices of some other venues. The menu will be an option of three starters, three main courses and three desserts ( as last year). I have been assured that the service will be 5 Star.
I am aware that some of you were dissatisfied with last year overall, but can assure you that you will find a significant change this year now under new management.
I think we should be prepared to give the hotel another try and am going to visit Jade in the New Year to ensure they are aware of our requirements. With this in mind, can you confirm that you wish to join us again this year ( Covid providing) Wine corkage for those who declared it will remain the same.
