I have to say that the AGM and subsequent meeting was a great success and exceeded all my expectations. At one time , Michael Court and I doubted if we could make a Quorum, but in the end 12 members turned up and in addition at least seven members had sent their apologies as they were either at work or on holiday.
The President called for two minutes silence to remember Geoff Gardiner, Anita Overland and an earlier member Vic Burgess
The President read out his annual address and thanked not only the committee, but also the members and Associate members who had kept the Branch alive. This was followed by the assistant Chairman Dave Stapleton giving a short review of the Branch at the moment.

The new committee then took over the meeting.
It was decided that Annual subscriptions for members would remain at £10 per year and then it was then agreed that associate members would also pay £10. Unanimously agreed.
An event which has been very well planned and attended in previous years has been the Annual Dinner and the committee decided to go ahead with the dinner this year on Friday November 26th. Margaret Gardiner has already been in touch with the local Holiday Inn and it was agreed that this would be this year’s venue. During the meeting John Hill rang “Billy Keys” and he was agreed to be the entertainment for the evening. It was also agreed that we would use the same modus operandi as the previous year. John Hill will assist.
There were no plans to celebrate the Corps centenary and the meeting closed and the new committee took over the Branch meeting. It was agreed that the Secretary should email all members and decide on a date for the September Branch meeting as the proposed date in September was unacceptable to a number of members. Michael should give all members the address of the Branch website
