19 Signal Regiment

Just a quick reminder and update. This year we will be extending an extra warm welcome to our newcomers Sandra Grimes, Charlotte Tate, and the late Barry Vargas’s Son and Daughter in law Emlyn and Julie. 55will be attending dinner. Everybody should have a refurbished bedroom.

The timetable for the weekend is very much as previous weekend reunions.

Some of us arrive on Thursday. We normally get together on Friday evening for a three course supper which always includes a curry.

I have been told by Kelly that the Saturday we are in Gloucester is the end of the round Britain cycle extravaganza, so that is an added bonus, though it may be a little packed.

The journey to Gloucester is no longer than other reunions but please be on the coach by 9.15 so we can leave by 9.30. We will spend plenty of time there but hope to leave about 3. so that we are back in time for showers and a zzzzz.

Dinner will be served in our own private dining room. Please assemble in the bar by 7.pm and move into dinner to be seated by 7.30. Pam is hoping to arrange a group photograph before dinner. Details later !

There is a table plan which will be available on entering the function room for our reunion dinner. For comfort I have kept the table numbers down to 7.This is so that there are no tables which are overcrowded and uncomfortable.

I have finished printing the personal menu sheets and your personal menu will be on the table on your arrival for dinner. Please please note for dinner on Saturday as it is a Regimental function we expect appropriate dress (e.g. Men jackets and ties ). Please wear your name tags.

Also please note that this year, we have agreed with the hotel that wine will be on every table (foc) and that wine will be available at the bar at a vastly reduced price. PLEASE do not bring your own wine into dinner. The corkage option is no longer available and I will be obliged to ask you to remove it.

There will be a short AGM after the dinner and we hope to invite new members to the committee as both Pat and Frank are hoping to stand down after many years.

I am sure it will be a great weekend but on a serious note, let us please remember those members who, for health reasons are unable to attend this year (the ever present Geoff and Sheila Pinder ) and those no longer with us and ensure that their memories “linger on” Without them, this weekend would not exist!

Let's have a great weekend. Any questions please contact John Hill
