From John Hill
After seven years as President of the Peterborough Branch I was becoming more and more frustrated at the expected role of the President. It meant I was unable to sit and vote as a committee member and basically had no real say in the running of the branch. In addition as I live a number of miles from Peterborough, I was not always aware of what was "going on" in the immediate community.
At the committee meeting on 11 November 2022, I decided to resign in the post of President and take a more active role in the running of the Branch. Michael Court has been a very active member of the Branch committee for many years but because of ill health has not always been able to fully commit himself to assisting in Branch activities. I nominated him as the next President and the committee voted him in. Michael Court of now the Branch President.
I was very overcome with the response of the committee in thanking me for the work I had carried out as President and thanked them for their understanding. I will now put my name forward to the Branch before the next AGM and ask to become a full committee member from that date.
