FINAL MEETING OF THE BRANCH TO DISCUSS THE CELEBRATION
OF THE JUBILEE ON FRIDAY JUNE 3RD 2022.
Instead of an annual dinner in November we decided to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee on the 3 June 2022. Venue The Holiday Inn, Thorpe Wood Peterborough.
As the costs for a “sit down” dinner for the evening were horrendous, we have decided that it will be a sit down buffet menu.
The Association Standard and possibly the Jubilee standard will be in attendance.
We should arrive by 7 o clock to sit down and start at 7.30
No table plan will be required this year. John Hill’s guests will be seated at 2 tables hopefully set out as one large table..
As the cost of port was far too expensive, we will carry out the toasts with our table drinks
(There will be 3 toasts, The Queen, Our Colonel in Chief and the ladies. Michael will act as Mr Vice)
Music and Entertainment will be provided during the evening by Billy Keys.
There should be enough room for us to dance if the situation arrives.
A short welcoming speech will be given by the Chairman ( Dave Stapleton) .
During the evening the President (John Hill) will introduce Billy Keys and give a short update on the Branch and our activities and thank Margaret for her organisation of the event.
The cost to members and guests will be £20 per head for the evening.
John Hill will supply a “stand by” microphone. He will update the website
Dress for the evening will be smart casual (Normally jacket and tie for the men)
To boost Branch funds and to pay for the room for the evening Dave and Chris will run the raffle.
Hosts could even ask their guests to bring a raffle prize if appropriate.
John Hill will provide each table with the ubiquitous quiz. There will be a prize for the winning table.
Compared with the previous dinner, numbers are low. We should make every effort to contact again all members and remind them (Possibly email this brief to inform everybody).
