The Eden Camp Parade took place on Sunday 15 May 2022. It was open to all members of the Royal Signals Association be they Past, Present or Future. Organised by a small committee from the RSA’s area 1 North and South. Our chairman is Mr Keith Bates and parade Co-Ordinator Mr Keith Moxon. This annual gathering sees Standards from across the country parading with their comrades and this year the salute was taken by the RSA Chairman Major General McDowall CBE.
Over 150 men and women who have a history with the Royal Corps of Signals have, in the past, come together in the spirit of friendship for the day at the Eden Camp Modern History Museum, near Malton. Access is granted on production of a valid RSA membership card or proof of membership on the day. We utilise the camps bar and cookhouse facilities which offset’s costs on this not-for-profit event in support of the Corps Charity.
The day is an enjoyable one having the morning to wander the camp and a short parade led by the branch standards. During this parade there is opportunity for members who have been awarded service badges, honour badges or branch standards to have new pennants presented. This year thirteen standards were on parade with men and women following on in a squad of thirty-six. Some 273 members of the public, Sea and Royal marine cadets watched on as the band played the parade onto the square and then Cpl Alasdair Beaton Piped the General on for the presentations.
There was a presentation of a sword provided by Mrs Charmian Robinson which in turn had been presented to her late husband Malcom in 1981 by the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess in Blandford and will now be used by the Corps RSM in perpetuity. Fifty year badges were also presented to Mr D Corrie and Mr D Fraley by the General.

Regularly supported by serving members of 2 Signal Regiment from York and 50 Signal Squadron from Darlington this year we are also supported by the Associations own Riders Branch showing off their machines, some of which were used by the legendary White Helmets. There were also several Larkspur and older radio vehicles on display and the sets brought back many memories for all who saw them. This is all in addition to the fantastic displays exhibited by the ever-expanding museum itself.
