Eastbourne Armed Forces Day

A great day at Eastbourne Armed Forces Day with a few members supporting the local Eastbourne Area District Veterans Association CIC setting up the event and breaking it down over a 4 day period.

With a contribution of equipment kindly lent by Blandford Museum and the support of a local enthusiast on ISAAF equipment, weapons, and uniform, we were able to put on an interesting display and saw plenty of the public take interest througout the day. We paraded both our Eastbourne Standard and the Army Standard with 2 other members joining the parade with the other Veterans with The Deputy Lord Lieutenant and local MP inspected and spoke wih every member of the parade.

Our oldest member Raymond was able to attend at the ripe age of 99 years old and was able to have a chat with the local MP Josh Babarinde who is a staunch supporter of Veterans and the Armed Forces.

It was good to see former Royal Signals Chelsea Pensioner Brian Rolfe stay the weekend and come down for a chat too.
