On 14th October, a fantastic £126.37 was raised in support of The Royal Signals Charity
The fundraising initiative, led by LCpl Harry Phillips of 1 Signal Regiment, combined practical cooking skills with meaningful opportunity to support causes that make a real difference to people’s lives.
As part of the initiative, troops were taught essential cooking skills, how to cook safely and confidently in their Single Living Accommodation(SLA), helping them develop confidence, independence, wellbeing and ability to prepare meals safely using the appliances available for them.
To support the fundraising effort, homemade cakes were baked and sold on the day.
Beyond the kitchen, the initiative provided an opportunity to support a charity that makes a real difference to the lives of Royal Signals personnel and their families. The Royal Signals charity offers valuable challenges, reinforcing the importance of looking after one another within the Corps.
The initiative highlighted how something as simple as cooking can bring together, develop valuable life skills and support a worthwhile cause.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who contributed, donated and supported this fantastic effort. Every contribution helps the charity to continue their valuable work and provide support to those who need it most.
Raising £126.37 is a brilliant achievement and a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
