The theme is “A Digital Army, partnering with Industry to realise Future Soldier and beyond”

The Context: Future Soldier will make structural adjustment to and deliver the technical modernisation enablement of the Army to win in the complexity of 21st Century sub threshold operations and warfighting. The digital eco-system (platforms, systems, networks and people) will offer opportunity for multi domain integration, but will also expose a ‘rich’ threat surface to potential adversaries. Protecting this, while ensuring operational freedom of manoeuvre, will necessitate ever greater collaboration between Defence, Partners, Suppliers and Industry through human dialogue and automation. Project CADUCEUS - digital and cyber individual upskilling - is making headway before the technical modernisation takes place. External placements offer applied experience with Industry Partners to deliver a cross over in culture and skills, but these remain limiting in volume and duration. In what is a slim window of opportunity, what practical measures can the Royal Signals and Industry take to ready our Partnership collegiately to fight the digital eco-system?
