RSI Lecture - Precision Timing and Navigation

Disrupting or corrupting timing and navigation signals used to be restricted to nation-state capability. This is no longer true. With easily affordable and commercially available hardware and free software, hackers can block or replace GPS signals. In addition, GPS signals may be disrupted due to system errors, user equipment failure, or environmental effects such as solar flares. Given this context, Dr Bryn James, a Senior Civil Servant from the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl) will talk on Precision Timing and Navigation for use in hostile EW and/or GNSS-denied environments and how such technology can be applied.
