Staff Sergeant Richard Simpson has served in the Corps since 1994, joining as a Radio Telegraphist. Throughout his career, he has been fortunate to follow his passion for outdoor pursuits. An active mountaineer for 20 years, his achievements include a UK pioneering Himalayan expedition and the British Services Antarctic Expedition of 2012. The RSI is proud to offer this opportunity to hear of his latest challenge, as the telecommunications and power expert during Antarctic Quest 21. Join the RSI at Blandford on 27 September to learn more of the Antarctic as an environment, the challenges it presents to power and telecommunications as well as its demands it places on mental and physical resilience. Hear how Richard and the team dealt with adversity (and events not under their control) and his witness of the impact of climate change and the importance for sustainability.
