Captain Ian Dawes, pictured far right "My role as a Captain in the Army Reserve provides me with the opportunities to develop skills, such as Leadership and Teamwork, that I would otherwise not have from my Civilian Career as a Forensic Scientist. During my time in the Reserves, the most enjoyable development has taken place skiing in the Alps and orienteering on the Scottish West Coast."
Captain Josh Coe, pictured far left, is 2IC at 36 Signal Squadron based in Colchester, part of 71 Y Sig Regt. He said "Whilst working as a project manager for an insurance firm, I also balance this with being a Captain in the Royal Signals. The experience, skills and insights from the military sphere directly benefit my employer which is well supported. This mutual relationship has also come to fruition in me being able to create an Employee Resource Group specifically for the Armed Forces Community. Since its inception last year we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and are now silver employers; unveiled our own memorial at the National Arboretum; promoted jobs on the military leaver’s jobs boards; created workstreams to support all pillars of the community and promoted the Armed Forces within RSA. This Employee Resource Group would not have thrived without the support for Reservists shown by my employer.
