The Royal Signals recently held an Etherton Presentation at Corps Headquarters, where Mr Simon Sandler-Vallance was formally welcomed back into the Corps. During the ceremony, Mr Sandler-Vallance was presented with a beret, cap badge, and certificate of service by our Corps Colonel; symbols of honour and recognition for his time in uniform.
Now the CEO of an internationally recognised cosmetic company, he credits many of his core values and leadership principles to the foundation laid during his military service.
The event was part of a broader effort to acknowledge and support those affected by the Etherton review. As part of this initiative, a formal apology was issued by the Prime Minister in 2023, recognising past injustices to those perceived as LGBT and reaffirming a commitment to fairness and inclusion within the Armed Forces.
