The Gordons Cup is a rite of passage for all Royal Signals phase 2 soldiers. The annual military skills competition held at Blandford recently has the aim of fostering teamwork and encouraging the development of skills that the Initial Trade Trainees (ITT) will need throughout their careers. It breeds healthy competition, develops leadership skills, and allows soldiers to physically and mentally test themselves in a safe and controlled environment.
This year saw 220 people competing for the prestigious Gordons Cup, with 18 trainee sections and four additional teams comprising of Permanent Staff, Troop Commanders, a German team and for the first time a French team from the Corps of Transmission.
The day was a resounding success and everyone who took part is to be congratulated.
