Success in the Canary Islands

Training Camp

Members of the Corps Running and Athletics squad attended an overseas sports tour to the Canary Islands in January 2019.

The tour was designed to prepare athletes for the Cross Country and Athletics season. Headed up by WO1 Jennings of 11 (RSS) Sig Regt, the team of 16, including both Regular and Reserve officers and soldiers travelled to Los Cristianos in Tenerife, to undertake a week of training using the SMART training concept.

The week was a resounding success and all athletes departed the island enthused for the coming season.  The committee is already scoping the potential for future tours to this location. For more information on future Running and Athletics events please follow the Facebook Groups of ‘Jimmys in Sport’ and ‘Royal Signals Running’.
