The Deputy Corps Colonel of the Royal Corps of Signals, Colonel Emma Bruce, has formally recognised the outstanding achievements of the Blandford Dorset Army Cadet Force Detachment, presenting them with the Royal Signals Best Cadet Detachment Competition Award Standard.
The Standard was received on behalf of the detachment by Second Lieutenant Filipe Lloves Lloyd, who expressed pride in the cadets’ exceptional commitment, discipline, and teamwork throughout the competition year.
Colonel Bruce congratulated the detachment on their exemplary performance and the professionalism that set them apart at Corps level. Following the presentation, she spent time speaking with the cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs), learning more about their training, community engagement, and aspirations within the Army Cadets and beyond.
“It is inspiring to see the energy, maturity, and dedication shown by the Blandford Detachment,” Colonel Bruce said. “The cadets and their adult volunteers demonstrate the very best of the Royal Signals’ values and continue to uphold an exceptional standard.”
Second Lieutenant Lloyd added:
"Receiving this award on behalf of the detachment is a great honour. Our cadets have worked incredibly hard, and this recognition means a great deal to all of us.”
