HRH The Princess Royal Celebrates the Corps

HRH THE PRINCESS ROYAL RECORDS UNIQUE INTERVIEW FOR ROYAL SIGNALS’ 100TH BIRTHDAY

  • HRH The Princess Royal, the Colonel-In-Chief of the Royal Signals, has recorded a very rare interview to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Signals.

  • The video was created, recorded and edited by Royal Signals personnel, and will be published on the Corps’ birthday, 28th June, on British Army and Royal Signals social media channels.

  • Royal Signals celebrate birthday on 28th June 2020, 100 years after being granted a Royal Warrant, signed by Sir Winston Churchill.

  • The Corps are the British Army’s communication, IT and cyber experts and their troops have taken part in every notable operation since formation.

Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, Colonel-In-Chief of the Royal Signals, has recorded a very rare interview talking about her pride in the Corps, its history and future, and the unique role that women play in the organisation.

Back in February, Royal Signals personnel were granted the opportunity to visit Her Royal Highness at St James’s Palace in London. They captured an hour’s worth of footage that they edited into a five-minute special that will be released on the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Corps on 28th June 2020.

The Princess Royal has held the post of Colonel-In-Chief of the Royal Signals since 1977 and was scheduled to take the salute at a major parade to mark the centenary. Although that had to be cancelled, we are extremely fortunate that this video was recorded before the COVID-19 restrictions were imposed. The Royal Signals is extremely proud of its heritage and equally proud of where it stands today, an inclusive and forward-thinking organisation with all trades open to women, offering a huge range of apprenticeships and professional qualifications, amazing opportunities for personal development, and at the forefront of cyber operations. We’re in great shape to take on whatever the next 100 years holds for us, and proud to have such a fantastic Colonel-In-Chief.The video will be shared at the following links:Facebook: @RSignals Instagram: RoyalCorpsSignals Twitter: @R_Signals
