With football fever building around the World Cup, we’re shining a spotlight on Capt Lucie Waddon.
As the Adjutant at 3 (Div) Signal Regiment, Lucie balances one of the Corps’ busiest roles with an outstanding football career. She is Captain of the Corps Football Team, OIC Royal Signals Football Association (W), a Football Development Officer, an Army Women’s Senior Team player and secretary, and has represented the Army at the Inter Services and Bournemouth 7s.
Selected to represent the UK Armed Forces against the Bundeswehr in Germany this month, and playing for Southampton in her spare time, Lucie is a brilliant example that you can excel in your military career while pursuing your sporting ambitions.
The British Army provides the time, funding, and world-class support needed to excel both in uniform and on the pitch.
