30 Signals Regiment – Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge for the Royal Signals Charity

We want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team of individuals who recently completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Royal Signals Charity (RSC).

This ambitious effort was taken on by a dedicated group of nine participants from the Systems Engineering Troop, 30 Signal Regiment:Cpl Hem Limbu, LCpl Sadip Rai, LCpl Anushil Rai, Sig Ashish, Sig Khuwalung, Sig Mausam, Sig Ghale, Sig Hom Jirel, and Pte Prince.

Supporting them every step of the way were the essential admin leads: Sig Keshab Limbu and Sig Binson Gurung, whose tireless behind-the-scenes work helped make this challenge possible.

The team set themselves a tough goal—to complete the 38km Yorkshire 3 Peaks route, each carrying 10kg of weight, and do it all in under 11 hours. Thanks to their preparation, grit, and teamwork, they smashed their target with a finishing time of 10 hours and 24 minutes.

Their motivation? A deep sense of gratitude. For Sig Ashish (IC) and Sig Khuwalung (2IC), who were temporarily attached to the Systems Engineering Troop from 250 Gurkha Signal Squadron, the challenge was about giving back. During their time with the Royal Signals, they experienced more than just professional collaboration—they built lasting friendships and became part of a family. Raising money for the Royal Signals Charity was their way of saying thanks for the support, camaraderie, and pride they felt in being part of the Corps.

Of course, the day didn’t come without its share of humour. One memorable moment saw a team member’s expensive cap whisked away by the infamous Yorkshire winds—proof that nature always has a sense of humour!

To everyone who contributed, supported, and donated—thank you. Your generosity will go a long way in supporting serving and retired members of the Royal Signals and their families.

To those reading this and thinking about doing something similar—we encourage you to take the leap. Whether it’s a physical challenge, community initiative, or personal goal, there’s no better way to make an impact. Fundraising doesn’t just benefit the cause—it builds team spirit, creates lifelong memories, and gives back to those who support us every day.

Once again, thank you to our fantastic fundraisers. You’ve made us proud.

Jai Gurkha – Certa Cito!
